SmartSHOTS

HEALTHCARE

The purpose of the SmartSHOTS App is to increase childhood vaccination rates in Tennessee by identifying, addressing, and overcoming the barriers to vaccine uptake. The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is working with the Tennessee Department of Health, Community Health Councils, and volunteers across Tennessee to identify these barriers to vaccinations and is creating a cross-platform health application called SmartSHOTS.

The SmartSHOTS App will help Tennessee parents and guardians understand immunizations, find locations that give vaccines, and address myths about vaccines in children.

The final goal of the project is for the management of the app to be taken over by the Tennessee Department of Health and to continue to serve as an up-to-date source of information for all Tennesseans.

My contribution to the project has included userflow, wireframe, and colored design creation, community engagement meeting presentation design, brand guide creation, logo adjustments, participation in facilitating user testing, research, and more. I have gained valuable experience in Figma and working in a cross-disciplinary setting.
